This Was Supposed to Be a Post About Social Media …

14-Main_Post-ADDanl-Dolly-ChristmasWell, I confess, I got a little distracted.  Just as I poured a cup of hot tea and sat down to write about why CEOs should care about social media, I received a sweet text from my colleague and friend, Ms. Amy Gates.

Her text made me feel so great, I instantly turned on my all-time favorite playlist!  And well, from that moment on, I was overcome by sweet emotions only a special tradition can deliver.

core_textYou see, this playlist is one of my most favorite holiday traditions. I have been crafting and sharing it with others for years.  This playlist is special for many reasons, and the first song happens to be from the Dolly & Kenny SMASH HIT ALBUM form 1984 – Once Upon a Christmas.  It’s not a traditional holiday song collection, but rather a compilation of country, pop and R&B songs that are not the standard sing-a-long favorites we all know and love.  These songs range from upbeat, toe-tapping tunes to ballads that evoke emotions and memories.

So while social media and marketing remain ever on my mind, I am mindful that this is also the time of year to let our senses take over and immerse ourselves in all things merry and bright.  And for me, sharing music does the trick every time!

Below is the list of songs in the order I like to enjoy them. You can also follow the majority of this list on Spotify.

I hope you will enjoy and please send me a few of your favorites as well!
