Fresh Summit PR Resources You Should Use

FreshSummit-Logo-JPG-300dpi.jpgAs PMA Fresh Summit approaches, our focus tends to be consumed by booth design, marketing and sales collateral, branding updates, new product showcases, and other major tactics in preparation for one of our industry’s biggest events. While all of these things are vital to trade show success, it’s just as important to take advantage of the many Public Relations resources that Fresh Summit offers in order to bring people to your booth and encourage conversation prior to, during, and after the show.

Fresh Summit PR Resources To Use

Pre-show PR

  • Press Releases – You’ve worked hard to make sure that you’re showing your best and most innovative products, so don’t forget to tell the industry! Prior to Fresh Summit, share a press release with any newsworthy and helpful information that will encourage buyers to stop by your booth. PMA offers the opportunity for brands to upload up to 5 releases to their Digital Press Room, which is an excellent opportunity for additional exposure.
  • Social Media Outreach – PMA has confirmed a list of Trade media that will be attending Fresh Summit, so be sure to like those publications and their editors on Twitter and Instagram prior to the show and engage with any important information that they’ll need to know by tagging them, Fresh Summit, and using the event hashtag. Don’t be afraid to Tweet something like “@AndNowUKnow Can’t wait to unveil our new website for you at booth #210 next week! See you there! #FreshSummit @FreshSummit”

At-show PR

  • Media Kits and Printed Materials – Have your most recent press release(s) available for journalists who stop by your booth, which should include a company logo, media contact, and social media links. Additional company background information, high-res images and logos, and new product information should also be made available if possible, and works best if included on a flash drive to give to the media, or in a Dropbox link that can be shared via email during or immediately following the event.
  • Camera-ready! – Be sure you and your team are prepared to speak with a journalist from any given publication, as well as on camera. A great interview on camera often means more publicity within publications, and ultimately, more attention on your brand.
  • Social Media Engagement – Trade media will most definitely be checking in on social media for news and updates, so be sure to post real-time, eye-catching, and relevant content from the show – everything from photos to exciting updates – using #FreshSummit and tagging @FreshSummit. Depending on what makes the most sense for your brand, Twitter tends to be the best option to connect, followed by Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

Post-show PR

  • Follow up! – Take note of who stopped by your booth and make it a point to check in with those journalists for any quotes, photos, or additional information that they may need. Also feel free to send along any releases that you may not have been able to send prior to the show, but be sure to send within one week after Fresh Summit in order to be included in the recap stories from the event.

Just as your marketing and advertising efforts increase for Fresh Summit, so should your PR outreach and support! Preparing now means creating opportunities for more intentional conversations with customers and media throughout the show.
